Friday, September 13, 2019 we found we were pregnant. Fast forward a few weeks and we learned it was going to be a boy. Now that we're (potentially) two weeks away from his arrival, I wanted to share all the work we put into his nursery.
Our cottage has three rooms: our bedroom, the "dog room"/lofted guest room and the office. Neither of us had used the office so frequently that it was an essential room. We had a TV in there for video games, two desks that were often just surfaces that collected clutter and mail and that was about it. It is the perfect size for a nursery, and gets great sunshine, so we took on the task of cleaning it out and getting to work on transforming our rarely-used office into a nursery.
Putting the room together has been so much fun! We decided to include a lot of outdoorsy-nature themed items, and also injected a bit of Star Wars in the space with the constellation blackout curtains and crib sheets. The first thing we picked out was a set of water color paintings of mountains and fir trees, and from there we chose the color, a nice warm, mossy green that turns a bit gray depending on the lighting. Peter actually turned his old desk into a small set of bookshelves that are perfect for the space and really help us make use of the space. The only thing we're still waiting on is a mirror to hang where the TV used to be, since the one we ordered showed up shattered -- but Peter's already punched out the rest of the glass from the frame and we'll be grabbing a new mirror to fit in it later this week.
Take a look at the transformation and some small details below.
